The trip starts from New Delhi. Drive to Nainital and check in to the hotel. Evening will be free to have rest after a long journey.

Known as the Lake District of India, Nainital seems to be the glittering jewel in the Himalayan necklace. Nainital interestingly is believed to have relevance in ancient myths of India. Naini means the eye and Tal means the Lake. It’s the spot where Goddess Parvati`s eyes fell and the place came to be called as Nainital i.e. Lake of the Eye. It`s claimed to be one of the 64 Shakti Peeths (Power Sites). The day starts with the Visit to Bhimtal, a town which is claimed to be older than Nainital. The major attraction in the town is Bhimtal Lake with an island exactly in the centre of the lake. About 2km from Bhimtal, is a small natural lake known as Nal Damyanti Tal, a very sacred place for the local people. Next comes Naukuchiatal, the nine cornered lake claimed to be the deepest lake in Nainital. Again a legendary one believed that if one takes a look of all nine corners in a single glimpse, one can attain moksha (enlightment). The herd of lakes and enchanting nature makes it perfect for the holidays. Next comes a famous Hindu temple Hanuman Garhi, a must visit for people with a curious religious thought of mind. The sunrises and sunsets are the most mesmerizing views one cannot afford to miss from the temple. Tiffin Top, referred to as Dorothy`s Seat is a stonework bench built in the memory of Dorothy Kellet built by her husband and near ones. After early breakfast, we leave to Kausani. After having been for nearly three weeks in the Almora hills, I am more than ever amazed why our people need to go to Europe in search of health and beauty. We don’t under rate Europe but that’s what the father of nation, Mahatma Gandhi about Almora. On the way towards Kausani, we will be lucky to witness the rich heritage of Almora famous as the Cultural Heart of the region. Almora allows you to witness the unconquered Himalayas with the along with the clear view of hills seemed to be painted in different colours. Next comes Khairna, famous as a fishing centre with lush green valley’s also known for its herbal and sacred plants.

Kausani is one of the major destinations for Himalayan tourists. The best thing about this hill station is a crystal clear 350 km view of the Himalayan peaks like Panchchuli, Nanda Devi and Trisul. As a matter of fact, there are very few places in the Himalayas which can be compared with the exotic beauty of Kausani. The panoramic views of the mighty mountains make it famous and a reason to be called as the Switzerland of India. The famous place to visit in Kausani is Anashakti Ashram, a guesthouse some 7 decades ago where Mahatma Gandhi stayed. Kausani is also famous for its tea gardens and orchards. The high flavoured tea planted here is exclusively exported to the developed nations.

It’s often said that the beauty lies in the simplicity, Ranikhet justifies to the same. Ranikhet meaning Queen`s Field was named after a Queen who fell in love with the place when she visit it. This beautiful Hill station is famous for two of its temple, Jhoola Devi ka Mandir constructed some 500 years ago in the honour of Goddess, who acted as a shield to protect the people from the man eater tigers and Kali Devi ka Mandir believed to be more then 5000 years old. The day promises to be one of the most interesting and exciting of the entire trip. Arriving at Jim Corbett and transfer to resort. Jim Corbett National Park named after the famous hunter Edward James Jim Corbett is the oldest national park in India. The place is a heaven for adventure seekers and wildlife adventure lovers. Elephant Safari is one of the major attractions of the Park. The ride on this royal animal is one of the most sought after activity in the area probably for the best and close view to lot many species like Chital, Sambhar, Himalayan Black bears, Indian Grey Mongoose and if lucky then the very famous Bengal Tigers.

The day welcomes you with the Wildlife Jeep Safari into the dense forests of the national park. The Jeep Safari is a most secure and easiest way to explore the forest. Apart of the wildlife it has, the park is breathtaking even in its scenery. At last, don’t be disappointed if you don`t see a tiger, if lucky enough you may witness the fresh pug marks (foot prints) of the royal specie. Later we will visit the Corbett Museum which holds some of the mesmerising and very sacred things on the life history of Mr. Jim Corbett. Garjia Devi Temple is the tourist destination and one of the popular one in the area. There is a huge rock in the centre of river Kosi which adds to the attraction for the place.

After early breakfast, leave for Rishikesh. Located in the foothills of the Himalayas, Rishikesh is a mixed blend of pilgrimage and adventure at the same time. Known with different names like Teerth Nagri (City of Temples), Yog Nagri (City of Yoga) and the gateway to the Himalayas, Rishikesh attracts thousands of tourists every year. Nicknamed as the world capital of Yoga, the city offers numerous yoga centres which add to the attraction. The most sought after place to visit is Lakshman Jhula which takes you to Lakshman Temple and extraordinary Kailashananada Ashram. Interestingly, Rishikesh is the starting point for travelling the Char Dham (four abodes) pilgrimage which every Hindu wishes to visit. Parmarth Ashram is one such ashram where the traveller can contemplate and meditate, a must visit to the all who are in search of divinity. The world famous band The Beatles have composed around 48 songs in the now closed Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ashram. Apart of this, the city is famous for its world class Rafting and Adventure sports.

After early breakfast leave for Dehradun Often referred as the dream destination in the Doon Valley, Dehradun is one of the hill resorts dotted with places of travellers interest. Impressed with the geographical and climatic conditions, Dehradun was once the residential place for the British. With the long list of places like the office of Survey of India, Forest Research Institute, Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple, Tapovan and Lakshman Siddh, this hill resort every reason to be flocked by the tourists. Founded in 1767, the office of Survey of India has the collection of old maps and interestingly the organization measured the height of Mount Everest under the leadership of Sir George Everest. The Forest Research Institute displays the very sacred and beautiful species of flora and fauna supposed to be found in India. Tapkeshwar Mahadev is a cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva whereas Tapovan is claimed to be the spot where the Great Guru Dronacharya underwent self mortification.

After early breakfast leave for Haridwar Gateway to the Almighty, that’s what Haridwar mean, is one of the seven holiest places for Hindus. The entire is dedicated to temples and visiting most sacred Ghats. The famous temples to be visit are Parmeshwar Mahadev Temple, Daksha Mahadev Temple, Mansa Devi Temple and Kankhal. Each Temple has its own relevance and the traveller would be left with surprise to know mythological heritage of this ancient city. A visit to Har ki Pauri (footsteps of the Almighty) is a must visit for the traveller as it’s considered as the most sacred ghat of Haridwar. View of the evening aarti is the most amazing experience one should witness in their lives. The literal meaning of aarti is remover of pain which one actually does experience by offering the Divas (the oil lamps) to God. Moreover, aarti is the ceremony of devotion, humility and introspection.
